Les Fumées Blanches
In 1997, François Lurton and his brother Jacques discovered this little-known terroir, the perfect place to grow and express the true character of Sauvignon Blanc.
Les Fumées Blanches owes its name to the morning mist that drifts like white smoke (‘fumée blanche’) over the vines in the foothills. As well as creating a beautiful scene, this is also very helpful to our vines as it offers protection against the fierce southern French sun for part of the day.
